From May 17th to May 21, 2006 the First All HAWK Veterans Reunion was held at the U.S. NAS in Boca Chica, Florida.
This was the fifth HAWK Reunion  organized and  arranged by Wes Guidry and his lovely Louisiana Belle wife Judy. The previous reunions had been limited to those HAWK Veterans who served in Key West. This time all HAWK Vets were invited. Ask anyone who attended and they will tell you it was a resounding success!
Captain James K. Scholl, the Commander of the NAS Key West hosted the reunion at the Naval Air Station. His hospitality and attention to detail made this reunion the best yet. We all want to thank Captain Scholl and his outstanding staff or their hard work and efforts. They made this an event that all of the attendees will remember for a long time.

Day One
The event started at the Pavillion behind our barracks. The local Budweiser Distributor donated a couple kegs of beer and hot dogs were prepared on the grill. The cookout began at noon and the participants trickled in all afternoon.
One of the Richards grilled while the rest of us did some serious damage to the donated kegs. The cookout started at noon and went on into the evening. Captain Scholl stopped by to welcome us back to the Naval Air Station and a reporter, Jenny Babson, from the Miami Herald came by to cover the event.
We cooked out, drank beer and swapped lies into the evening.
The first evening we worked on the kegs of  Budweiser and consumed numerous hot dogs. Tired from out travels most of us retired early in preparation for the next days activities. A few die hards rolled the kegs into the Recreation Room and continued to swap lies and renew old friendships and create new ones.
We had a busy day coming up. In the morning we were going to visit the tactical sites and a lunch at the Geiger Key Marina was planned.
